Hi. Im Nikhil Velpanur. Im 23 years old. And I am what you would call an Entrepreneur.
Fancy word? U bet it is!
I started my entrepreneurial sojourn by publishing a magazine. Ok I know what ur thinking. Software company, Design studio, Waste-basket and stationary manufacturer, even BPO yes..i can understand. But magazine! Which dumb f*cker would start off by publishing a magazine! That too a print magazine, and not really being the son of some gazillionaire! Yes - the school of hard knocks gave me a warm welcome!
Ok let me cut the crap and let you know why you are reading this blog.
Here is MY take on the Venture Capital and Private Equity industry.
What makes it different? Well, for starters im not a VC. Im not an economist. Nor am I an ex-investment banker. I don't even know the a-b-c's of finance for god's sake!!
Then what effing rights do I have to write this blog?
1. The Blogosphere is the universal spittoon. So going by that logic and seeing thousands of 'bloggers' writing about what they crapped out this morning, I figured that I am perfectly qualified to cover the Private Equity industry :)
2. Damn you - this is an entrepreneur's perspective!! A total common man's look at the whole 'XYZ raised $XYZ million dollars to do the same damn thing another guy is doing, but whats different is that our business model is defensible'! Yea baby - Im gonna write!!
